Nice Try, Jane Sinner – Sunday Street Team

If I could cast season two of House of Orange, who would I include?

Synopsis (GR):

33413915It’s Kind of a Funny Story meets Daria in the darkly hilarious tale of a teen’s attempt to remake her public image and restore inner peace through reality TV. The only thing 17-year-old Jane Sinner hates more than failure is pity. After a personal crisis and her subsequent expulsion from high school, she’s going nowhere fast. Jane’s well-meaning parents push her to attend a high school completion program at the nearby Elbow River Community College, and she agrees, on one condition: she gets to move out.

Jane tackles her housing problem by signing up for House of Orange, a student-run reality show that is basically Big Brother, but for Elbow River Students. Living away from home, the chance to win a car (used, but whatever), and a campus full of people who don’t know what she did in high school… what more could she want? Okay, maybe a family that understands why she’d rather turn to Freud than Jesus to make sense of her life, but she’ll settle for fifteen minutes in the proverbial spotlight.

As House of Orange grows from a low-budget web series to a local TV show with fans and shoddy T-shirts, Jane finally has the chance to let her cynical, competitive nature thrive. She’ll use her growing fan base, and whatever Intro to Psychology can teach her, to prove to the world—or at least viewers of substandard TV—that she has what it takes to win.

My cast for season two of House of Orange:

Usagi (Sailor Moon) : She’d be perfect and we all know it. She’d be a crying, procrastinating mess but I think at the end of the day she’d shine. She give the audience a good show but also be a great player.

Rhys (ACOTAR): He would charm the pants off everyone in that house and bend them all to his will. Then he’d win the prize for Feyre because she’s his entire world.

Lila Bard (ADSOM): She’d try to murder the contestants, probably, but she’d definitely play some nasty tricks on everyone. It would make some great television and really spice up the dynamics in the house. Plus, I selfishly just want to see her on a T.V. show or in a reality setting.

Jade (Little Monsters): No spoilers but if you’ve read Little Monsters you know exactly why this girl would be the best player on a reality show.

Monty (The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue): Come on, he’s an obvious one. He would complain all the time about the horrific conditions he was living in but he would be all in the spot light all the time.

And the final contestant would be…

Simon (Simon vs.): He’d be a wholesome component to this group. I think him and Usagi would hit it off. He’d be a blushing mess when Monty inevitably hit on him. Many, many times.

Who do you think would win? Who would you cast if you could cast a bookish reality show? What challenges would you put these guys up to?
